                                      STEPS TO ACCREDITATION
                                      


Accreditation is a three-step process. Listed below is a general overview of the procedure.

Initial Application:
1.    The fee for the Initial Application is $50.00 and should be sent to the

       TAAPS office.
2.    The Initial Application will be forwarded to the school from the TAAPS

        office.  Complete the Initial Application and return to the TAAPS

       office.
3.    The  Initial Application will be reviewed by the Standards Committee.
4.    The Initial Application will be approved, denied, or suggestions to
meet

        standards will be communicated.

Applicant Self-Study:   
1.    Complete the Applicant Self Study (an abbreviated version of the

       Accreditation Self Study) and remit $725.00 applicant fee and

       $1000.00 deposit toward visiting team expenses.
2.    If accepted, a visiting team is assigned.  The school will be responsible

       for hotel arrangements and transportation from airport, if the team

       does not drive.  The team members will send their expenses to the

       TAAPS office.  TAAPS office will bill the school.    
3.    Confirmation of visit will be sent listing name and address of each

       visiting team member.
4.    A hard copy of the Applicant Self-Study should be sent to each

       member, one month prior to the visit.
5.    Visiting team visits school and submits a report to the Standards

       Committee.
6.    Standards Committee submits a recommendation to the board.
7.    The board votes on the continuation of the accreditation process.  The 

       school is notified of the results.
8.    Approved schools will receive the Accreditation Self-Study.

Accreditation Self-Study:
1.    The Accreditation Self-Study expands the Applicant Self-Study in that

        the Applicant Self-Study is the foundation for the Accreditation

        Self-Study.  
2.    Complete the Accreditation Self Study and remit $425.00 accreditation

       fee and $1000.00 deposit toward visiting team expenses.
3.    If accepted, a visiting team is assigned.  The school will be responsible

       for hotel arrangements and transportation from airport, if the team

       does not drive.  The team members will send their expenses to the

       TAAPS office.  TAAPS office will bill school.
